GLEN DIMPLEX COOKING RIDE ON NISSAN’S SILVER STAR

Nissan has struck up a deal with Glen Dimplex for over 100 silver Primastar vans, ensuring the company, which is one of the market leaders in cooking appliances, has a professional and modern image whilst on the road.

The decision to switch its entire fleet of commercial vehicles came after Glen Dimplex Cooking trialled a number of manufacturers and models, finally deciding on the SE Primastar panel van thanks to the model’s high specification, and load carrying capacity. Each vehicle has been sign written with three brand logos, Stoves, Belling and New World and have been supplied by CD Bramall in Bradford on a 90,000 mile contract hire basis.

Andrew Winstone, Service Manager, Glen Dimplex Cooking said, “It is vital that our engineers create a good first impression when visiting customers and ensuring the standard and quality of our vehicles is one very important part of this image building process. We have chosen silver vans to get away from the public perception of ‘white van man’ and with all of the vehicles equipped with air conditioning, all of our engineers are able to arrive at their destination cool, calm and collected.”

He continued, “We estimate the fleet will grow to between 125 and 150 vehicles in the near future and we look forward to developing our relationship with Nissan to meet our fleet needs.”

Dave Murfitt, Fleet Sales Director of Nissan GB said, “Since its launch a year ago the Primastar has proven to be an extremely popular vehicle thanks to its excellent specification, 5m3 load carrying capacity and its competitive price.”

The Primastar is one of the latest recruits to Nissan’s rapidly expanding commercial vehicle team. There are seven models in total, six of which have rear parking sensors as standard. Prices start with the E at £11,995 (ex VAT) and rise to £13,425 (ex VAT) for the 2.9 tonne Access and SE model. Within the range there are a choice of two common rail versions of its 1.9-litre turbo-diesel engine and two payload options. A new high roof Primastar will be coming soon.
