Nissan Announces Sale of Holdings in Nissan Builnet
Tokyo
– Nissan Motor Co Ltd announced today that it is to sell 100% of its stake in
Nissan Builnet Corporation to Kyoritsu Maintenance. The deal, details of which are not being
disclosed, will be completed on
29 March this year.
Nissan Builnet provides a range of services including management of rental buildings for office and retail purposes, comprehensive building maintenance, (spanning facilities maintenance, security, sanitation and environmental maintenance), real estate agent services and construction. Kyoritsu Maintenance Co Ltd manages and administers dormitories for businesses and students.
The sale of Builnet is part of Nissan's on-going programme to free up resources from non-core holdings to focus on investing in new products and technologies while reducing the company's debt.
As part of the Nissan Revival Plan, the company has committed to returning to a net consolidated profit in fiscal year 2000, achieving an operating margin of at least 4.5 percent and reducing net consolidated automotive debt to less than 700 billion yen by the end of fiscal year 2002.
