NISSAN PRIMASTAR SHINES BRIGHTER IN 2004

In response to customer demand for a better-equipped medium sized van, Nissan has revised and extended the Primastar range for 2004.  The revisions include the addition of a new 2.5 dCi engine, a new high roof version, additional safety specification on the SE grade as well as a streamlined grade structure to match the Kubistar and Interstar ranges.

New engine, more power

The 2.5 dCi engine, which also appears on the Interstar range, is now available on the Primastar but with even more power.  With 135hp and 310 Nm of torque it offers impressive load lugging capabilities, but is still capable of returning 33mpg on the combined cycle.

The 2.5 dCi engine is available with the SWB low roof, LWB low and high roof SE models.

Improved specification

To bring the Primastar in line with the Kubistar and Interstar ranges, the grade structure has been modified. The Access grade has been discontinued and the SE grade has gained extra specification to make it safer and more comfortable than ever.   The top of the range SE sees ABS with Electronic Brake Assist as standard equipment alongside driver’s airbag, rear parking sensors and full metal bulkhead.   A single slot CD player has also been added for that extra bit of luxury.

New models and greater options

Many operators have downsized their vans in recent years, but they still demand a generous combination of payload options and load volumes in these smaller vehicles. Based on a change in buying patterns, Nissan has added five new Primastars to the range.  There are two new high roof versions powered by the existing 1.9 dCi engine available with both long and short wheelbase options.  The new 2.5 dCi is also available with long and short wheelbase options – the short wheelbase is teamed with a low roof and the long wheelbase with both low and high roof versions.  Quite literally the new 2004 Primastar provides a van for every operator’s business needs.

The Primastar options packs have also been revised and include two rear doors packs, two tailgate packs and a climate pack.  All packs are available on the SE grade only.
