AROUND VIEW MONITOR TURNS NISSAN QASHQAI 360 INTO THE CAR COMPANY MOTORISTS CAN'T HAVE A PARKING ACCIDENT IN

  • Advanced 360° camera technology  helps drivers avoid expensive parking collisions
  • "Around View Monitor" featuring four external cameras is standard on Qashqai 360
  • New statistics show the average cost of a car park collision is £1,428

Camera technology that features as standard on the Qashqai 360 should mean the end of company car driver induced parking errors, saving thousands for fleets in repair damage, prevent insurance premiums rising and reduce vehicle off the road time.

AVM is an advanced camera system that gives the driver a 360° bird's eye view of their parking area.  Using 4 separate wide angle cameras located at the front, rear and in the side mirrors, the integrated 5" Nissan Connect touch-screen monitor displays an image of the vehicle from above.

This helps the driver visually confirm the position of the vehicle in relation to the lines around the parking space. With this, the driver can easily position the vehicle for parallel parking or park the car in a smart way.

AVM's benefits were recently outlined when Accident Exchange research* found that the average cost for car body and mechanical repairs resulting from car park collisions is £1,428.  Total costs of an incident will also rise further when you include a rise in insurance premiums and hire car costs.

AVM also serves to protect the standard fit 18" Onyx alloy wheels by helping the driver align the wheels away from curbs and avoid any expensive collision damage.

Jon Pollock, corporate sales director at Nissan said: "The figures quoted by Accident Exchange speak for themselves and show that even a low speed incident can cost fleets both financially as well as the inconvenience of fleet downtime.  The Qashqai 360 is full of leading technology as standard and AVM helps fleets reduce their collision costs and helps keep control on the fleet's purse strings."

The Qashqai 360 is also particularly well equipped versus its rivals thanks to standard equipment including a panoramic glass roof, roof rails and privacy glass.  Inside, the Nissan Connect touch-screen monitor that is home to the AVM also features an integrated satellite navigation system, Bluetooth, USB and iPod/iPhone connectivity.

The Nissan Qashqai 360 is available now from £19,945 OTR.

*Research covered 68,963 accidents handled between July 2010 and 2012.
