Ashwani Gupta is Alliance Senior Vice President of Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi LCV Business. He took leadership of the Renault LCV Business Unit in 2014 and added responsibility for Nissan’s LCV business in 2017. His role aims to expand LCV market leadership under a single business organization, unleashing the full potential of Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi.

 

Mr. Gupta joined Renault as general manager of purchasing at Renault India in Mumbai. He moved to the Renault Nissan Purchasing Organization in Paris in 2008, as global supplier account manager for braking systems. The following year, he joined Renault Nissan B.V. as deputy general manager, global purchasing. In 2011, Mr Gupta was appointed global program director for Datsun programmes at Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. in Japan, where he led the product development to launch in India, Russia, Indonesia and South Africa.

 

Mr. Gupta began his career in 1992 in engineering and purchasing in the private sector and later moved to management positions in the automotive industry.

 

Mr Gupta graduated from Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College, India, and obtained a diploma from The Indian Institution of Export and Import Management. He has also studied at CEDEP, in association with INSEAD, London Business School and Harvard Business School.

 

A native of India, Mr. Gupta is based in Paris, France.
