TWO MORE WINS FOR THE NISSAN NAVARA
The Nissan Navara has won another two awards: 4x4 magazine has voted it ‘Pick-up of the Year’ and the Navara has also collected the title of ‘Best Pick-Up and 4x4’ in the 2006 Commercial Motor Testers’ Choice Awards. These bring the trophy tally up to three. And the Navara has only been on sale five months.
When it was launched in August of last year, the Navara shot straight to the number one spot in the sales chart, and is still outselling all other pickups. Its 174ps engine makes it the most powerful in its class with no competitor coming close.
The judges at 4x4 magazine commented: “The all-new Navara has raised the pick-up game. Its increased dimensions have allowed for a roomier and more comfortable cabin, and is the most car-like drive ever. Adding to the driving pleasure is the 2.5 litre turbo diesel engine which is powerful, refined and economical too. The four-wheel drive is a state-of-the art, easy-select system, and off-road the Navara will go anywhere its close rivals can. But a winner also needs that little something extra, and visually the Navara is a stunner, with muscular haunches and a bold stance from nose to tail. Beauty and the beast in one.”
