- Europe’s best-selling crossover now available with upgraded 1.5-litre 115PS diesel and new 1.7-litre 150PS engines
- New SCR system for NOx reduction brings engines in line with latest emissions regulations
LONDON, UK (June 20, 2019) – The appeal of the Nissan Qashqai is now greater than ever, thanks to a revised diesel line-up that includes two new engines with a choice of 2WD and 4WD capability and Manual, DCT or CVT transmissions.
At the same time, Nissan has launched its advanced ProPILOT drive-assistance technology on the full Qashqai line-up. The award-winning system is now available on all automatic (DCT or CVT petrol and diesel) variants of the UK’s best-selling crossover.
ProPILOT is an advanced driver assistance system. Used during single-lane driving on the highway, the technology helps maintain the car’s lane position and distance from the vehicle in front, making highway and traffic driving easier, less stressful and more relaxing.
1.5 dCi 115PS
The enhanced 115 PS unit offers drivers a 5 PS increase in power over the 110 PS of the previous generation. Torque remains the same at 260 Nm, though the engine now features an all-new overboost function. This delivers an extra 5 PS and 25 Nm of torque for up to 15 seconds of driving.
Also new is Selective Catalytic Reduction technology using AdBlue to reduce oxides of nitrogen (NOx) emissions. This technology allows the engine to meet the latest Euro 6d-Temp emissions standard while preserving efficiency and performance.
More than 90% of the engine’s components have been modified to deliver these improvements, including the oil cooler module, oil filter, dual mass flywheel, vacuum pump and high-pressure fuel pump.
Following its introduction on the 1.3 DiG-T 160PS petrol engine, the Qashqai is also available with a DCT transmission on 1.5 dCi 115PS versions. The drivetrain is class-leading for low CO2 emissions from just 106g/km (NEDC-BT) on 17” alloy wheels.
The 1.5 dCi 6MT is available from Visia grade and priced from £21,595. The 7-speed DCT transmission on the 1.5 dCi is offered from Acenta Premium grade to Tekna grade with OTR prices starting at £25,950.
1.7 dCi 150PS
Available from N-Connecta starting at £27,800 , the new 1.7 dCi 150PS engine follows on from the previous 1.6 dCi with increased power (+20PS); torque (+20Nm) to 340Nm, and an increased towing capacity of 2,000kg.
An improved fuel injection system, new water charge-cooler and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system with AdBlue injection bring the engine up to the latest standards, whilst delivering improved performance and fuel economy.
A 4WD automatic CVT version is also offered for the first time on Qashqai. Available from N-Connecta grade and priced from £30,970, it features a higher power output over the previous 1.6 dCi CVT, 4WD capability and an increased towing capacity of 2,000kg.
