BERLIN, Germany – Nissan Formula E Team finished outside the points in both races at the Berlin E-Prix double header despite strong recovery drives from Sacha Fenestraz and Norman Nato.
Following two difficult qualifying sessions on the Tempelhof Airport Circuit, both drivers fought back well despite not having the full planned upgrade package. Supported with good strategy from the team, Franco-Argentine racer Fenestraz finished 12th and 11th on Saturday and Sunday respectively, with Frenchman Nato 13th and 16th.
Season 9 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship continues on 6 May for the Monaco E-Prix.
Tommaso Volpe, managing director and team principal, Nissan Formula E Team: "It was a difficult weekend for us. Unfortunately we weren't able to bring all the upgrades planned for this event and that's what we think made a major difference compared to other teams. In both races, our strategy was good and the drivers performed well, which makes our lack of pace even more frustrating. We've got a lot to analyze and learn, and hopefully in Monaco we will come back stronger and set a positive trend since the start of the season."
Norman Nato: "We were very good in terms of energy management this weekend, but unfortunately we were missing a bit of performance, which kept us out of the points. Our strategy was good, but we had too much tire degradation. We're still working hard to improve at every event, and we'll take what we've learned in Berlin and in the first half of the season to be more competitive in Monaco."
Sacha Fenestraz: "It was a tough weekend, both races were chaotic and we were able to get close to the points. We found ourselves in a difficult situation in qualifying but we learned a lot and put in two good performances in the races. Energy management was really key and we did that well, which is why we moved through the field. We need to be realistic, we've come a long way since the start of the season but of course everybody else is also improving so we have to keep working hard to come back stronger and fight for a better result in Monaco."

About Nissan in Formula E
Nissan made its all-electric racing debut in Season 5 (2018/19) of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship, becoming the first and only Japanese manufacturer to enter the series.
